Summer is an ideal time to explore Canada’s numerous outdoor and seasonal antique fairs and markets, whether you’re an experienced antique collector, a thrifting enthusiast, or simply seeking a fun road trip idea. These events attract respected dealers, offer a curated selection of goods, and cater to both casual browsers and serious treasure-hunters. Some even enhance the experience with on-site food trucks.

Here are eight antique fairs and markets that are worth adding to your summer agenda:

1. Aberfoyle Antique Market: Positioned just south of Guelph, Ont., the Aberfoyle Antique Market, touted as the largest in Canada, operates every Sunday until Oct. 25. With over 100 vendor booths offering collectibles, furniture, and folk art, visitors can also explore special Saturday shows with more than 150 vendors, the next one scheduled for Sept. 19.

2. Old Strathcona Antique Mall Parking Lot Sale: In Edmonton, the Old Strathcona Antique Mall organizes a seasonal sale in its parking lot on select days throughout the summer. Visitors can browse vintage treasures outdoors and explore the mall’s 120+ indoor vendors. The upcoming sales are set for July 12, Aug. 3, and Sept. 7.

3. Saugeen Shores Antique & Collectible Show: Celebrating its 48th year, this year’s show will take place on July 18 and 19 at the Southampton Coliseum in Southampton, Ont. Over 80 vendors will showcase vintage clothing, jewelry, advertising signs, furniture, and unique items like Pyrex tableware, retro toys, and rare trading cards.

4. Vintage Pasture Sale: The sixth annual Vintage Pasture Sale will feature over 40 vendors selling vintage and antique items at Locality Brewing in Langley, B.C., on July 18. Inspired by French brocantes, this event also includes food trucks, farm stands, and a beer garden for attendees to enjoy.

5. Sussex Flea Market: The Sussex Flea Market will be hosted at Princess Louise Park in Sussex, N.B., from Aug. 14 to 16. Organized by the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club, this outdoor event is anticipated to welcome over 800 vendors offering a wide range of items, from household goods to rare collectibles.

6. Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club Vintage Collectibles & Antiques Show: Scheduled for Aug. 28 and 29 at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster, B.C., this annual summer show organized by the Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club will feature more than 200 booths selling vintage clothing, sports memorabilia, small furniture, and other collectibles.

7. Odessa Antique Show: The Odessa Antique Show, taking place on Aug. 8 and 9 at the Odessa Fairgrounds near Kingston, Ont., features vendors from Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. Attendees can explore a variety of items such as furniture, toys, glassware, and antique china. The area is also known for its numerous antique shops.

8. Cookstown Antique & Vintage Show: The Cookstown Antique & Vintage Market hosts two annual outdoor events, with the next one scheduled for Sept. 12 at the Georgian Bay Steam Show Grounds in Cookstown, Ont. The event will feature over 100 vendors, and a list of participants will be available on the show’s website later in the summer.

These events provide an excellent opportunity to discover unique treasures, enjoy the outdoors, and immerse yourself in the world of antiques and collectibles.
