Céline Dion has returned to the music scene with the release of a new single titled “Dansons,” which translates to “Let’s dance” in English. The heartfelt French-language ballad is accompanied by a romantic music video showcasing couples dancing in various locations across Paris.
This release comes as Dion prepares for her upcoming series of 16 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17. Fans had been speculating about her comeback following mysterious signs appearing in Paris featuring lyrics from her popular songs like “My Heart Will Go On” and “The Power of Love.”
Written by renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, “Dansons” is Dion’s first French release in over a decade and her first original song in years. Her previous musical endeavor was in 2023 when she contributed to the soundtrack of the film “Love Again.”
Dion’s return to the stage follows a period of absence due to health issues, including the cancellation of her Courage world tour in 2023 after revealing her battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. Despite these challenges, Dion made a powerful comeback in July 2024, performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris and later at a fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, paying tribute to designer Elie Saab’s illustrious career.
