“Canadian Screen Awards Week Kicks Off with Children’s TV Winners”

Canadian Screen Awards week has officially begun, with the announcement of winners for the Children’s Television Awards at the inaugural ceremony in Toronto. A total of 16 winners were revealed during the event.

Among the winners were Josette Jorge, who clinched the award for Best supporting performer in the children’s or youth category for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.” Will Arnett also received recognition for his outstanding voice performance in “Super Team Canada.”

Other notable winners included the team behind “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures” for Best writing in the pre-school category and the creators of “Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express” for Best original music in animation.

Katie Boland was honored with the Best direction award in the children’s or youth category for “Macy Murdoch — Tick, Tick, Gone.” Additionally, “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum — I am Jackie Robinson” stood out, winning awards for Best writing and Best direction in the animation genre.

The audience-favorite Canada Media Fund kids’ choice award went to “Mittens & Pants,” while “Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood” was recognized as the Best pre-school program or series. Furthermore, “Odd Squad” was a double-winner, securing accolades for Best lead performer with Asha Soetan and Best children’s or youth fiction program or series.

Lastly, “Super Team Canada” emerged victorious in two categories, winning for Best animated program or series and Best voice performance for Will Arnett. The event marked a successful start to the Canadian Screen Awards week, showcasing the talent and creativity in children’s television programming.
