Jack Osbourne reassures fans that the AI avatar of his father, Ozzy, will not be lacking in quality. Responding to criticism following the announcement of the creation of Ozzy’s life-sized AI avatar, Jack emphasized that the project would be executed with great care and sophistication. During a recent YouTube Q&A session, Jack elaborated on the complexity of the endeavor, emphasizing that it involves more than just connecting an image of his father to a basic AI program.
After the unveiling of the plan, some fans expressed reservations on social media regarding this technological innovation. Despite the mixed response, the Osbourne family shared the news at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, showcasing their collaboration with tech firms Hyperreal and Proto Hologram to capture Ozzy Osbourne’s essence digitally.
The late rock legend, who passed away at 76 due to a heart attack, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s, will be immortalized through this AI avatar. Jack Osbourne described the avatar as remarkably accurate and detailed, noting the advancements in technology that allow for a lifelike representation of his father.
Sharon Osbourne added that the AI-generated hologram of Ozzy will be interactive, enabling fans to engage with him in his own voice. She expressed her desire for Ozzy’s legacy to endure like that of Elvis, emphasizing the global reach the project aims to achieve.
This initiative is not the first of its kind, with similar holographic recreations of iconic figures like Stan Lee and Paul McCartney created by Proto Hologram and Hyperreal. The Osbourne avatar is set to debut on interactive touchscreens, called Proto Luma units, in the U.S. and U.K. later this summer, marking a significant milestone in the realm of holographic entertainment.
