Former U.S. President Barack Obama is currently in Toronto to give a keynote address at a Canadian think-tank event. The 44th president is headlining Canada 2020’s gala at the Fairmont Royal York. During his time in office, Obama visited Canada three times, with his first visit being to Ottawa in 2009 to meet with former Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Subsequently, he attended G8 and G20 summit meetings and the North American Leaders’ Summit in Canada. This event in Toronto marks his second visit to the city. The think-tank’s goal is to promote policy ideas that foster a fair, inclusive, and forward-looking Canada.
