“Trump Offers Ukraine Conflict Resolution Help to Putin”

In a recent conversation lasting almost 90 minutes, U.S. President Donald Trump offered his assistance in resolving the Ukraine conflict to Russian President Vladimir Putin. This offer was made during a call on U.S. Independence Day, as Trump prepares to attend the upcoming NATO summit in Turkey. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also had a discussion with Trump, where the American president reiterated his commitment to ending the conflict swiftly and finding solutions to address the crisis.

According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, the dialogue between Trump and Putin was described as business-like and constructive. Russia is advocating for a political and diplomatic resolution of the conflict, emphasizing the importance of Russia’s stance in the process. Ushakov criticized Kyiv and its European allies for potentially prolonging and escalating the conflict, as well as engaging in acts of terrorism against civilians.

The conversation highlighted the ongoing military actions, with Russian forces reportedly making progress in various regions. Despite conflicting reports about the control of certain cities, Russia has insisted on a resolution where Moscow gains full authority over Ukraine’s Donbas region. However, Ukraine rejects this demand, with Zelenskyy pushing for direct talks with Putin, which the Russian leader has declined.

Ushakov disclosed that Trump mentioned the continued efforts of U.S. envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, in facilitating a settlement and their willingness to visit Moscow for further discussions. Putin expressed optimism that U.S. diplomatic initiatives in the Iran conflict could lead to mutually acceptable long-term solutions across various issues. Additionally, Putin extended an invitation for Trump to visit Moscow at his convenience.

Zelenskyy shared his positive impressions of the conversation with Trump, emphasizing the potential for American involvement to play a crucial role in ending the war along the extensive front line. Both leaders agreed to continue their discussions at the NATO meeting to explore further opportunities for progress.
