“Montreal Victoire Faces Minnesota Frost in PWHL Semifinals”

Four teams are now vying for the coveted Walter Cup in the PWHL championship race. Half of the league’s teams qualified for the playoffs in the third season, with the final decisions made on the last Saturday.

The battle for the top two spots came down to the wire between the Montreal Victoire and Boston Fleet, determining the playoff matchups. Montreal clinched the top position and chose to face the two-time champions, the Minnesota Frost. The series will kick off on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET, with Game 2 scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at 7 p.m. ET.

In the other semifinal, the Boston Fleet will have home-ice advantage against the Ottawa Charge. The first game in Lowell, Mass., is set for Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by Game 2 on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Montreal’s Victoire, on a hot streak with a PWHL record of points in 16 consecutive games, is gearing up for the playoffs. Despite facing challenges with key players sidelined during the regular season, the team looks stronger and deeper than ever before. Led by goalie Ann-Renée Desbiens, the Victoire are ready to face the Frost.

On the other side, the Minnesota Frost, the only team to have clinched the Walter Cup in the league’s history, will rely on their experience and star players like Kendall Coyne Schofield and Kelly Pannek to secure another championship.

In the second semifinal, the Boston Fleet will face a tough challenge against the Ottawa Charge, who have shown resilience and determination throughout the season. With top performances from players like Brianne Jenner and Rebecca Leslie, the Charge are ready to give their best against the Fleet.

The matchups promise intense battles and exciting hockey action as the teams aim to claim the prestigious Walter Cup title.
