The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that forward Max Domi will be sidelined indefinitely following a recent surgery for an undisclosed medical condition. The team revealed on Monday that the 31-year-old faced complications post-surgery, having played through the injury during the 2025-26 season.
Max Domi, who hails from Winnipeg, recorded 36 points, including 12 goals, 24 assists, and 95 penalty minutes in 80 regular-season games. The Maple Leafs stated that Domi will be under the care of the team’s medical staff and will undergo a re-evaluation at the commencement of training camp.
Having signed a four-year contract extension valued at $15 million US in July 2024, Domi, initially drafted 12th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2013, boasts a career total of 486 points, comprising 150 goals and 336 assists across 815 regular-season games played for various teams like Arizona, Montreal, Columbus, Carolina, Chicago, Dallas, and Toronto.
