“Halifax Tides Hold Second Place in Northern Super League”

The Halifax Tides maintained their second-place position after playing to a 0-0 draw against AFC Toronto at BMO Field during the Northern Super League season’s initial two weeks. Both teams hold four points each, with a record of 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss, but Halifax has a better goal difference of plus-two compared to Toronto’s plus-one. The Montreal Roses are currently at the top of the league with six points from two wins.

In the match, both goalkeepers, Sierra Cota-Yarde for Toronto and Rylee Foster for Halifax, were quite active, facing 12 and 13 shots respectively, with six and five shots on target.

AFC Toronto began the season with a 1-0 victory against Vancouver, the defending champion, in a rematch of last season’s Diana B. Matheson Cup final. Following that, Halifax defeated Ottawa 3-1 in their respective opening match.

Looking ahead, Week 3 of the league will commence with Ottawa hosting Vancouver in a match on Wednesday.
