“Grammy-Nominated Producer Tay Keith Dies at 29”

Tributes are flowing in from the hip-hop community following the passing of Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith. The 29-year-old was discovered deceased in his Nashville residence during a welfare check conducted by authorities. The Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed the incident, stating that there are no suspicions of foul play, with the cause of death pending determination through an upcoming autopsy.

Known originally as Brytavious Chambers, Keith collaborated with top-tier artists in the music industry such as Drake, Beyoncé, Lil Nas X, and Eminem. His career took off at the age of 23 when he received his first Grammy nomination in 2019 for his contributions to Travis Scott’s hit track “Sicko Mode.” Subsequently, he earned another nomination in 2024 for his work on Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex.” Moreover, he was recognized on the Forbes “30 under 30 music” list in the previous year.

In remembrance of Keith, prominent figures like Memphis music producer Hitkidd and Florida-based DJ Scheme have expressed their condolences. BlocBoy JB, a Memphis rapper and one of Keith’s earliest collaborators, mourned Keith’s passing on Instagram, lamenting, “We talked every day, you didn’t tell me you were leaving.”
