“Conor McGregor Set for UFC Comeback vs. Max Holloway”

Conor McGregor is set to make his comeback to the octagon. UFC CEO Dana White revealed on Saturday that McGregor will have a rematch against Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 on July 11 in Las Vegas. The 37-year-old fighter has been out of action since sustaining a leg injury in a bout against Dustin Poirier in 2021 and has encountered various legal troubles. McGregor was held responsible by an Irish court in a civil sexual assault case stemming from an incident in 2018, a ruling that was upheld by Ireland’s High Court in July. Initially, McGregor was slated to face Michael Chandler in July 2024, but had to withdraw due to a toe injury. McGregor rose to fame in 2013 as one of the UFC’s most prominent stars and made history in 2016 by becoming the first UFC athlete to clinch two championship belts following a victory over Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title. He had previously secured the featherweight title in 2015 with a knockout of Jose Aldo. Notably, McGregor ventured into boxing in 2017 for a match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. during a two-year hiatus from the UFC, but has faced defeat in three out of his last four fights.
