Canada’s Kadriana and Colton Lott have achieved success as world championship medalists. The married pair hailing from Gimli, Manitoba, secured a commanding 11-3 win over Italy’s Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner in Geneva, claiming the bronze at the world mixed doubles curling championship. This victory marked Canada’s first medal at the world championship since 2019. Colton Lott, who recently won silver at the men’s worlds while playing as Team Matt Dunstone’s third, also celebrated his second international medal of the 2025-26 season.
Kadriana Lott expressed her joy, stating, “To share this together, to go on world stages to different parts of the world, it’s something we want to continue, and we’ll cherish these moments forever throughout our lives.” She highlighted her pride in their achievement and the significance of wearing the medal around their necks while standing on the podium.
In the semifinals, Canada faced Sweden but bounced back by capitalizing on scoring opportunities, including two four-enders and one three-ender. Canada’s superior 89 percent shooting accuracy outperformed Italy’s 65 percent, with a crucial misstep from Italy in the first end allowing Canada to take an early lead by scoring four points.
Colton Lott emphasized the importance of gaining momentum early in the game, noting that they recognized Italy’s struggle to perform at their best. By applying pressure and forcing precise shots from their opponents, Canada successfully capitalized on mistakes throughout the match.
The turning point came in the sixth end when Canada strategically utilized its power play to score four points, leading to the Italians conceding the final two ends. The gold medal was secured by Australia’s Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt, who defeated Sweden’s Therese Westman and Robin Ahlberg with a score of 8-4 in the championship game.
