“Canada Settles for Bronze in World Curling Mixed Doubles”

Canada’s quest for its inaugural world curling mixed doubles gold medal this year came to an end with a 6-4 defeat against Sweden in the semifinals on Friday. The Kadriana and Colton Lott duo from Gimli, Manitoba, found themselves trailing 5-2 against the Swedes after conceding a steal of three points in the fifth end. Despite clawing back with two points in the sixth, Sweden’s Therese Westman and Robin Ahlberg sealed the victory with a point in the seventh.

Reflecting on the match, Kadriana Lott expressed satisfaction with their performance, acknowledging that while they made several good shots, some key moments didn’t go their way. Despite the disappointment, the Lott pair remains determined, aiming to secure a bronze medal in the upcoming match.

In the final, Sweden will square off against Australia, who caused an upset by defeating the reigning champions 7-6 in the semifinals. Canada, on the other hand, will compete against Italy for the bronze medal. Since the inception of the mixed doubles championship in 2008, Canada has secured two silver and two bronze medals.
