“Canada Extends Head Coach Marsch Through 2030 World Cup”

Canada has extended the contract of men’s head coach Jesse Marsch for four more years, ensuring his leadership through the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Marsch expressed his commitment to developing the Canadian soccer program and the team’s potential. The upcoming World Cup in 2030 will be co-hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, marking a historic tournament spanning two continents.

Since joining in 2024, the 52-year-old American coach has played a pivotal role in reshaping Canada Soccer, promoting players to the senior team and securing representation for those with Canadian eligibility. Under Marsch’s guidance, the Canadian men’s national team has achieved a record of 12 wins, 12 draws, and 5 losses, with notable success at the 2024 Copa América, finishing fourth in their debut appearance.

Canada Soccer CEO Kevin Blue praised Marsch’s impact, commending his role in elevating the team’s competitiveness and identity. The team is currently preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Marsch expressing confidence in the squad’s strength, athleticism, and youth. The tournament, featuring an expanded 48-team format, will take place in 16 cities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Canada’s first match will be against Bosnia & Herzegovina in Toronto as part of Group B, which also includes Qatar and Switzerland.
