“Artemis II Crew Receives Hero’s Welcome at Canadian Space Agency”

Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his team from the Artemis II mission were warmly welcomed at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) headquarters following their expedition to the far side of the moon. Addressing an enthusiastic audience in Longueuil, Quebec, Hansen expressed gratitude to the individuals who contributed to the mission’s success.

During the 10-day journey, Hansen, along with mission commander Reid Wiseman and astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch, ventured farther from Earth than any previous humans. Koch highlighted the connection she and Glover felt to Canada, where they had undergone training, emphasizing the CSA’s significance to them.

The crew engaged in a Q&A session with Industry Minister Mélanie Joly and members of the public, joined by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jenni Gibbons, who was stationed at NASA’s Mission Control Center. Wiseman noted the diverse backgrounds of the Artemis II crew, underscoring how this diversity of perspectives enhanced the mission and fostered global unity.

The Artemis II crew’s arrival in Montreal was met with cheers and applause, as showcased in a video capturing the warm reception at the Canadian Space Agency headquarters. The crewmates praised Jeremy Hansen for his expertise, humor, and invaluable contributions to the historic lunar mission, marking a significant achievement after five decades.
