The much-anticipated moment for fans of Taylor Swift is almost here.
All eyes are set on Madison Square Garden in New York, where the singer and Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce are expected to exchange vows at 5 p.m. local time on Friday, as revealed by a permit obtained by The Associated Press.
Despite visible signs pointing to the upcoming event, organizers and city officials are making efforts to keep the wedding details confidential.
The permit, granted for a “Special Event at MSG,” was given the green light on Wednesday night by New York City’s permitting office, according to a spokesperson for Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
According to The Associated Press, sources familiar with the arrangements have confirmed that the application is connected to the musician and athlete.
The permit outlines a “pre-party celebration” starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, with around 100 guests expected for an intimate rehearsal dinner.
Following this, a complete street closure around the Manhattan venue will be in place overnight to facilitate the setup of various entrance and drive-through tents in preparation for the main event on Friday at 5 p.m., potentially extending until 4 a.m. the next day.
These developments align with long-standing rumors suggesting that the renowned New York location would host the celebrity couple’s wedding.
Speculation intensified recently as equipment was observed being unloaded from unmarked trucks behind barriers.
Among the items spotted were a sizable carpet briefly laid out and a box labeled “40-inch mirrorball,” glimpsed by TMZ — potentially a nod to Swift’s 2020 song, Mirrorball, which she hinted could be among her top songs.
It’s worth noting that representatives for the couple have not officially confirmed any details about the event.
However, city officials have been less discreet. The New York City Police Department acknowledged the upcoming busy weekend with July 4th celebrations, the World Cup match, and a significant “event.”
