Prime Video has announced the main cast for Season 2 of “Off Campus,” with Canadian actors Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla taking on the lead roles of Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes. Kalyn plays the role of a charming hockey defenceman, while Abdalla portrays Allie, a student at Briar University who works at the college bar frequented by Dean and his hockey teammates. The streaming platform introduced this casting news through a video and promotional images, highlighting the shift in focus to follow the book-to-book concept of the series, inspired by Elle Kennedy’s popular novels.
The first season of “Off Campus” adapted “The Deal,” focusing on Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham. Season 2 is set to draw from the third book, “The Score,” which delves into the relationship between Dean and Allie. Show creator Louisa Levy expressed excitement about continuing Allie and Dean’s storyline as the central romance in the upcoming season, while noting that Hannah and Garrett will still play essential roles in the show.
Joining the cast are Philippa Soo, known for her work in “Hamilton” and “Doctor Odyssey,” who will portray a theatre artist directing a play in the university drama department where Allie studies. India Fowler will also join as Grace Ivers, the love interest of hockey player John Logan and a key character from the second book, “The Mistake.” Returning series regulars include Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Antonio Cipriano, and Jalen Thomas Brooks.
“Off Campus” has proven to be a hit for Prime Video, becoming the top show on the platform in Canada. The series, which premiered all eight episodes on May 13, attracted 36 million viewers globally within the first 12 days, marking a successful debut season for the streaming service.
