Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh has recently signed with the Octagon agency. The 19-year-old, who clinched three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has now joined a prestigious firm that represents renowned athletes like Simone Biles, Steph Curry, Leon Draisaitl, and McIntosh’s idol, Michael Phelps.
Previously under the representation of Michael Copeland, McIntosh expressed her enthusiasm for partnering with Octagon, citing their successful track record with top Olympic athletes. She emphasized the agency’s ability to cater to her training and competition needs while collaborating on a long-term strategy to enhance her athletic achievements.
Hailing from Toronto, McIntosh trains in Austin, Texas, under the guidance of Bob Bowman, the coach behind Phelps’ record-breaking 28 Olympic swimming medals, 23 of which are gold. In Paris, McIntosh made history by becoming the first Canadian to secure three gold medals in a single Olympic Games, triumphing in the 200-metre butterfly, 200 individual medley, and 400 individual medley events at just 18 years old. Additionally, she claimed a silver medal in the 400 freestyle.
At the 2025 world championships in Singapore, McIntosh further solidified her talent by bagging four gold medals and a bronze, setting three world records in a single meet, a feat last achieved by Phelps in 2008. Peter Carlisle, Octagon’s managing director of Olympics, praised McIntosh as a standout talent with broad appeal nationwide and beyond.
With sponsorship deals from brands like Arena, Lululemon, Red Bull, TAG Heuer, RBC, and Air Canada, McIntosh’s star power continues to rise. Having debuted at the Olympics at just 14 in Tokyo, she boasts an impressive collection of 13 world championship medals, including eight golds. Voted The Canadian Press female athlete of the year in 2024 and 2025, McIntosh is gearing up for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and beyond, with the next long-course world swimming championships set for 2027 in Budapest, Hungary.
