A safety recall has been issued for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens in the United States and Canada due to a potential electric shock hazard. The affected models are the NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, identifiable by their model numbers located on the back of the toaster oven. The issue stems from a deficiency in the power cord insulation, where the protective fiberglass sleeve may not completely cover the cord, posing a risk of electric shock or fire.
Panasonic, in collaboration with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, advises consumers to cease using the impacted toaster ovens immediately and return them to the company for a full refund. To obtain further information, consumers can access Panasonic’s recall website or contact Panasonic Canada at 1-888-422-6296.
Approximately 2,184 units of the affected toaster ovens were sold in Canada, while around 11,500 were sold in the U.S. from November 2025 to March 2026. Health Canada has not received any injury reports related to the power cord issue as of June 15, and in the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping without any resulting injuries.
