In his first post since February, Martin credited his team for maintaining his blog in his absence and candidly discussed the challenges he has encountered, including the loss of friends and struggles with sadness and depression. Despite turning 77 last September and acknowledging the difficulties of aging, he highlighted the positive moments he has experienced, such as the success of the HBO series.
Looking ahead to the Emmy ceremony in September, Martin expressed hope to attend the event in Los Angeles. Notably, he did not provide any updates on the progress of the much-anticipated sixth book in the “Song of Ice and Fire” series, addressing the prolonged delay during a previous appearance at New York Comic Con in 2025, where he acknowledged his struggles with meeting deadlines and contractual obligations.
