A streamer known as Kishka seemingly uncovered a blue folder hidden within one of the ice blocks on Tuesday afternoon, unveiling that “Iceman” is scheduled to be released on May 15. The discovery was made during a live stream, where Kishka was also presented with a bag of cash.
Drake officially confirmed the release date via his social media account on Tuesday evening. Earlier on Monday, the Toronto rapper had shared images of the icy installation on Instagram, providing coordinates to its location and hinting at the presence of the release date within.
The ice structure quickly attracted locals who flocked to the site to speculate about when the ice would melt, revealing the album’s drop date. Some daring individuals even scaled the ice tower, with videos showing people at the summit using sledgehammers, blowtorches, and even setting fires atop the ice.
