Canada took an early lead, going up 2-0 after the first period and maintaining a 3-2 advantage late into the second period. Despite Sweden’s efforts to level the score, Canada’s resilience in the third period sealed the win.
Head coach Misha Donskov praised his team’s performance, emphasizing their ability to stick to the game plan and manage the puck effectively throughout the match. Brown, who previously played for teams like Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, showcased his skill by contributing significantly to Canada’s victory.
In addition to Brown’s goal, John Tavares, Ryan O’Reilly, Dylan Holloway, and Dylan Cozens also found the back of the net for Canada. Martone, Darnell Nurse, and Fraser Minten each recorded two assists in the game. Goalkeeper Jet Greaves made 25 saves for Canada, while Hellberg stopped 26 shots for Sweden.
