“Calgary Defense Attorney Faces Child Luring Charges”

A Calgary defense attorney is facing charges of child luring and sexual exploitation, following previous charges of harassing a police officer six months ago. Jordan Bonner, aged 46, was taken into custody last week after authorities from Alberta’s Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) and Calgary police conducted searches at his residence and law firm. The ALERT statement released on Wednesday mentioned an ongoing investigation, with forensic analysis being conducted on seized computers and electronic devices.

The charges against Bonner involve child luring, as well as creating, distributing, and accessing child sexual abuse materials. Allegations suggest that Bonner engaged in sexually explicit online conversations with multiple children aged between 11 and 15 years old. Additionally, he is accused of sharing child sexual exploitation materials. In addition to these charges, Bonner faces three firearms-related charges, including unauthorized firearm possession and careless storage.

The investigation began in December following a referral to ALERT by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Court documents indicate that the offenses allegedly occurred between December 20, 2025, and April 30, 2026. Bonner’s bail conditions encompass restrictions on social media use and proximity to areas frequented by children.

Investigators disclosed that Bonner allegedly used Snapchat usernames such as “jrcbonner,” “whydoyoucare197,” and “daddysboi10.” The ICE unit urges anyone with relevant information to come forward as the investigation continues.

In a separate incident in November, Bonner faced criminal harassment charges for allegedly threatening a police officer who had previously investigated him. Notably, the previous case is distinct from the current child luring allegations. Bonner is scheduled to appear in court later this week, and his legal representation declined to comment when approached by CBC.
