“Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Medal Unveiled with Inclusive Design”

The prize medal for the upcoming Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games was unveiled on Wednesday, showcasing a unique and inclusive design inspired by Glasgow’s prominent landmarks and coat of arms. This marks the first time in the history of the Games that the medal incorporates braille and tactile features, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity as a tangible and sensory experience.

Crafted by the renowned artist, designer, and maker Militsa Milenkova, the Glasgow 2026 medal adopts a Reuleaux triangle shape, distinct from any previous Commonwealth Games award. The design intricately weaves elements from Glasgow’s coat of arms, industrial legacy, and cultural heritage, reflecting the essence of the city’s identity.

During the event scheduled from July 23 to August 2, a total of 215 gold medals will be presented across 10 sports and six Para sports. Notably, Glasgow will host 47 gold medal events in Para sports, establishing the most extensive Para sport program in the history of the Commonwealth Games.
