The Rolling Stones have officially announced the release of their upcoming album, “Foreign Tongues,” set to be launched on July 10. Alongside this news, the band also unveiled a new single called “In The Stars.”
In celebration of the album announcement, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood are scheduled to attend an event in Brooklyn later today. This album follows their previous release, “Hackney Diamonds,” which came out in 2023, marking their first original material album in 18 years since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005. Notably, this will be the band’s first full-length project since the passing of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.
“Foreign Tongues” is said to feature a special recording session contribution from Watts before his passing, as well as collaborations with Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith from The Cure, and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Mick Jagger expressed his enthusiasm for the recording process at Metropolis in London, emphasizing the intense and passionate atmosphere during the production of “Foreign Tongues.” The band once again teamed up with acclaimed pop producer Andrew Watt, who previously worked on “Hackney Diamonds.”
Speculation surrounding the new album began with mysterious posters in London under the name The Cockroaches, a known pseudonym for the Stones. This led fans to a sign-up page on thecockroaches.com, eventually revealing a vinyl-only release of the track “Rough and Twisted” under The Cockroaches moniker.
As anticipation grew, billboards featuring the band’s iconic logo and the phrase “Foreign Tongues” in different languages popped up worldwide. The band’s official website was also updated with studio-style video clips. Furthermore, a slide puzzle graphic and a teaser video hinted at the album artwork and a new song, respectively.
The Rolling Stones’ upcoming album has been eagerly awaited by fans, and the band’s strategic teasers have only heightened the excitement surrounding the release.
