Canadian athlete Christopher Morales Williams finished in sixth place in the men’s 400-meter race at a Diamond League competition held in Xiamen, China. Morales Williams, hailing from Maple, Ontario, completed the race in 45.26 seconds. The event was won by Botswana’s Busang Collen Kebinatshipi with a meet record and world-leading time of 43.92 seconds.
Morales Williams, aged 21, achieved a gold medal at the world indoor championships in March, setting a new championship-record time of 44.76 seconds. In 2024, he clocked the fastest short track time in history at 44.49 seconds, but this record was not officially recognized due to a technical issue with the starting blocks.
