Actor Dylan Walsh from “Heated Rivalry” stirred up excitement among fans by hinting at the possibility of shooting twelve new episodes for the popular hockey romance series. Walsh, a 62-year-old American actor who portrays Shane Hollander’s father in the show, disclosed this information in a video on Cameo, a platform where celebrities create personalized videos for fans. The video, later shared by TikTok user Savannah Leigh, sparked speculation about potential multiple seasons of the series.
However, Walsh’s revelation may have landed him in hot water as he issued an apology and temporarily halted his Cameo account. In his statement to CBC News, Walsh expressed regret for discussing the production schedule and episode count without official confirmation, causing confusion among the production team and fans.
Despite the buzz surrounding “Heated Rivalry,” the show’s representatives have yet to respond to inquiries regarding Walsh’s remarks. Alongside his role in the series, Walsh has appeared in various TV shows like “Nip/Tuck” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” as well as films such as “Congo” (1995) and “The Stepfather” (2009).
The speculation triggered by Walsh’s comments has led fans to theorize on social media about potential filming for not just the second but also a third season of the show. The first season of “Heated Rivalry” comprised six episodes, and the series creator, Jacob Tierney, previously mentioned a preference for maintaining a concise episode count per season.
Based on Canadian author Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series, “Heated Rivalry” has garnered critical acclaim, winning prestigious awards like the Peabody Award and the Canadian Screen Award for Best Drama Series. The show’s success prompted Crave to renew it for a second season shortly after its debut in November 2025.
The second season of filming is predominantly occurring in Toronto and Montreal, as reported by the industry website Production List. Recently, Crave Canada announced five new cast members for the upcoming season, generating further anticipation among fans for the show’s continuation.
