“Record $2 Million Grey Cup 50/50 Draw Faces Ticket Glitch”

Strong interest in purchasing tickets for the record-breaking $2 million Grey Cup 50/50 draw on Sunday overwhelmed the lottery’s system, leading to some customers inadvertently making duplicate purchases, according to the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation. The announcement came as the foundation disclosed that the draw for the winning numbers would be postponed until the provider resolves the issue of valid tickets and reconciles the 50/50 pot.

The 50/50 jackpot had soared to $2,005,107 by the conclusion of Sunday night’s Grey Cup game, with the eventual recipient set to claim half of the total amount, marking the largest 50/50 prize for a single CFL game in history.

Due to the surge in traffic, a small fraction of ticket buyers experienced multiple charges, as confirmed by the foundation. The affected individuals, constituting a minor percentage of purchasers, will receive refunds for any duplicate transactions.

The impact of these duplicate orders on the final prize sum remains uncertain, and the timing of the draw remains undetermined.

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation, the charitable arm of the team dedicated to promoting education, health, and amateur football programs in the province, reassured the public that all issues arising from the ticket purchasing process would be addressed promptly.
