Microsoft Azure is experiencing disruptions that are impacting access to Office 365, Minecraft, and other services, as announced by the technology giant on Wednesday. The company informed users through its Azure status page that they are currently investigating issues with the Azure Front Door service, with assurances of an imminent recovery process.
Although Microsoft has not provided an immediate comment, they have acknowledged the problems on their status page and social media platforms. The widespread usage of Microsoft’s cloud service means that such outages can have far-reaching effects on various websites and services.
Users have reported difficulties with accessing Office 365, Minecraft, X-Box Live, Costco, Starbucks mobile apps and websites, Copilot, and other services on Downdetector, a platform that monitors online outages. These Azure troubles come shortly after a significant outage of Amazon’s cloud computing service impacted a wide array of online services, such as social media, gaming, food delivery, streaming, and financial platforms.
The disruptions coincided with the impending release of Microsoft’s quarterly earnings report. While Amazon leads as the primary cloud computing provider, Microsoft holds the second position ahead of Google in most markets.
