A woman from Florida has been charged with attempted murder and multiple felony offenses for allegedly firing gunshots at Rihanna’s residence in Los Angeles. The district attorney revealed that the incident took place while the singer, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three young children, and her mother were present on the property. The accused, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, was charged following the shooting outside Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home, with no injuries reported.
Ortiz faces charges that include 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. All 14 charges are classified as felonies, and Ortiz appeared in Superior Court of Los Angeles County before Judge Theresa McGonigle. Her attorney initially entered a plea of not guilty but later postponed the arraignment to March 25. Ortiz’s bail was set at $1.8 million US, and she was ordered to stay away from Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and their residence, prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
According to Los Angeles police Chief Jim McDonnell, there were 10 individuals at Rihanna’s home during the shooting. Investigators believe Ortiz traveled from Florida to the area, although the exact timeline remains unclear. Ortiz, a licensed speech pathologist with a recent address in Orlando, was arrested following the incident, during which a weapon was seized.
The authorities have not disclosed any potential connection between Ortiz and Rihanna. Efforts to reach Ortiz’s attorney and Rihanna’s representatives for comment were unsuccessful. Video footage from KABC-TV displayed bullet holes on the property’s front gate, with police dispatch audio indicating that 10 shots were fired.
Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner with multiple chart-topping hits, including “We Found Love” and “Umbrella,” co-parents three children with A$AP Rocky, with their youngest, Rocki Irish Mayers, born in September 2025.
