Los Angeles authorities apprehended a woman for reportedly firing gunshots near the residence of renowned Grammy-Award winning singer Rihanna, as per police and media reports. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and it remains uncertain whether Rihanna was present at the time of the incident on Sunday afternoon.
Law enforcement was alerted to shots being fired near a property in the Beverly Hills vicinity, confirmed Officer Charles Miller on Monday. Subsequently, a 35-year-old female suspect was peacefully taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered by the police, according to an official statement. The individual has been detained on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held on a $10 million bail, pending charges from the district attorney’s office.
The identity of the homeowner was not disclosed by Miller; however, various local news sources indicated that the property is linked to Rihanna. Property records reveal that the estate in Beverly Hills is under a trust managed by Evan Jehle, a member of Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation advisory board.
Requests for comments from Rihanna’s representatives were unanswered at the time of reporting. Visual footage from KABC-TV displayed apparent bullet holes in the property’s front gate, with a police dispatcher mentioning ten gunshots originating from a vehicle across the street.
The arrested woman’s connection to Rihanna, if any, remains unknown. In a separate incident in 2018, an individual was charged with breaking into another property of Rihanna’s in Hollywood Hills, where he spent 12 hours. The accused pleaded no contest to charges of stalking, vandalism, and resisting arrest in 2019, receiving a probation sentence.
Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy winner with multiple chart-topping hits, such as “We Found Love” and “Umbrella,” also established the makeup brand Fenty Beauty in 2017. She and A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child, a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers, in September.
