Frost Forward Britta Curl-Salemme Suspended and Fined

Minnesota Frost forward Britta Curl-Salemme has received a one-game suspension and a $250 fine from the Professional Women’s Hockey League. This disciplinary action follows two incidents during Game 1 of the Walter Cup playoffs against the Montreal Victoire. The Frost emerged victorious with a 5-4 overtime win.

The league announced on Monday that the fine was imposed due to an altercation in the second period between Curl-Salemme and Victoire forward Abby Roque. Curl-Salemme pulled Roque’s facial protector, causing her to fall to the ice. Additionally, Curl-Salemme’s suspension is a result of a separate play later in the period. She was penalized with a major and game misconduct for an illegal check to the head of Montreal forward Kaitlin Willoughby. The league’s player safety committee determined that Curl-Salemme’s action resulted in avoidable head contact as she made no effort to play the puck.

This suspension marks Curl-Salemme’s first of the 2025-26 season. Previously, she had been fined earlier in the year and served three one-game suspensions in the previous season.
