Canada has been chosen as the headquarters for the multinational Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB), according to sources familiar with the matter. The DSRB is a global institution that focuses on financing defense, security, and resilience projects for NATO members and their allies.
Sources who are not authorized to speak publicly revealed to Radio-Canada that Canada has been designated to host the new bank. The news was initially reported by The Globe and Mail.
Securing the bank is expected to generate approximately 3,500 jobs in areas such as defense finance, international operations, and specialized research and analysis.
Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver have all submitted proposals to serve as potential hosts for the DSRB. The final decision on the bank’s headquarters will be made by the federal government.
The services offered by the bank would involve providing long-term credit and facilitating the coordinated purchase of defense resources by multiple countries.
