“Winnipeg Man Accused of Genocide Promotion & Hatred Spread”

A man from Winnipeg, who was taken into custody earlier this year for allegedly making threats against Jewish and Muslim individuals, as well as Prime Minister Mark Carney, has been formally accused of promoting genocide and intentionally spreading hatred. Jason Paul Rindall, aged 55, was apprehended in February and is currently held in custody, according to the RCMP. He is set to appear in a Winnipeg court on Friday.

Rindall was arrested on February 13, following an investigation by the RCMP’s national security enforcement division into a social media user on the platform X. This user was suspected of issuing death threats against Carney and inciting animosity towards the Jewish and Muslim communities. Initially, Rindall faced three charges under the Criminal Code for making threats of causing harm or death.

Recently, on March 30, additional charges under the Criminal Code for advocating genocide and promoting hatred were formally laid against Rindall by the RCMP. In a statement released on Friday, the RCMP mentioned that due to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings, they would refrain from offering further comments at this point.
