Tegan and Sara’s Tegan Quin Writes for Marvel’s “Wiccan & Hulkling”

Tegan Quin, a member of the pop-indie duo Tegan and Sara, has contributed as a writer to the Marvel Comics pride special one-shot, “Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1,” set to release on May 27. The comic showcases the beloved gay couple Wiccan and Hulkling along with their families, emphasizing the significance of community and connection during challenging times.

In Quin’s narrative, brought to life by artist Luciano Vecchio, the story revolves around twins Wiccan and Speed as they unite to combat Ultron while navigating their distinct paths as siblings. Quin expressed her excitement about writing for Wiccan and Speed, citing her personal connection as a twin. The debut of her Marvel story is described as a magical experience, with Quin finding a cathartic outlet in portraying the defeat of an Ultron character, reminiscent of certain encounters in the music industry.

“Wiccan & Hulkling” will also feature creative inputs from writers Wyatt Kennedy, Josh Trujillo, and Zoe Tunnell, alongside artists Rachael Stott, Bradley Clayton, and Stephen Byrne. Quin, who resides in Vancouver, is actively promoting Loghan Paylor’s novel “The Cure for Drowning” on Canada Reads 2026.

Canada Reads is an event where five Canadian celebrities select one book for the nation to read, engaging in debates over four days to eliminate one book daily until a winner emerges. The upcoming Canada Reads edition is scheduled from April 13 to 16.

Throughout her career, Quin and her sister have launched ten studio albums, showcasing popular tracks like “Closer,” “Where Does The Good Go,” and “Walking with A Ghost.” Their musical achievements include selling over a million records, earning Juno and GLAAD awards, a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, and nominations for the Polaris Music Prize and the Grammy Awards.

In 2019, the twins transitioned from songwriting to authorship with their joint memoir, “High School,” and the middle-grade graphic novel series “Tegan & Sara: Junior High,” illustrated by Tillie Walden. Additionally, they established the Tegan and Sara Foundation to provide support to 2SLGBTQ+ communities, a philanthropic effort that led to them receiving the Humanitarian Award at the 2024 Junos.
