The Ottawa Redblacks have announced the appointment of a new head coach and general manager. Ryan Dinwiddie, previously with the Toronto Argonauts where he achieved two Grey Cup victories in five seasons, has taken over coaching responsibilities from Bob Dyce, who was relieved of his duties following Ottawa’s 4-14 season record, leading to their absence from the CFL playoffs. Dinwiddie has also been named the new general manager, succeeding Shawn Burke, who has been promoted to vice-president of football operations within the organization.
Dinwiddie’s move to Ottawa represents a step up from his previous role with the Argos. This transition comes as Ottawa seeks to improve its performance, having missed the CFL playoffs in five of the last six seasons since their defeat to the Calgary Stampeders in the 2018 Grey Cup.
