“John Schneider Named Manager of the Year Finalist”

Two days after the World Series loss, John Schneider has emerged as a finalist for Manager of the Year for leading the Toronto Blue Jays to the top spot in the American League. The winner of the AL regular-season award, determined by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, will be revealed on November 11. Joining Schneider as finalists are Dan Wilson of the Seattle Mariners and Stephen Vogt of the Cleveland Guardians.

During his fourth year as manager and third full season, Schneider orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for the Blue Jays. In 2024, the team finished last in the AL East with a 74-88 record. However, in 2025, Toronto achieved a 94-68 record, clinching the division title through a tiebreaker victory over the New York Yankees by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 13-4 in their last regular-season game.

The Blue Jays continued their impressive performance in the post-season, defeating the Yankees in a four-game division series and the Mariners in a seven-game championship series. Despite their efforts, they fell short in a seven-game World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
