The authorities were alerted to the scene near Nelson Street and Expo Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 11 after the child fell from the balcony. Initial reports indicated that the child fell from the 23rd floor to a balcony on the seventh floor, leading to a heart-wrenching situation for all involved, including the police, first responders, and the family. The deceased child was a student in Squamish, British Columbia, as confirmed by CBC News.
