The highly anticipated 10th season of The Great Canadian Baking Show is set to premiere on CBC and CBC Gem on Sunday, October 4 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT). The show will once again bring together 10 amateur bakers from various regions of Canada to partake in a series of themed culinary challenges that highlight their diverse backgrounds and passion for baking.
Following the format of the renowned UK series, The Great British Bake Off, this Canadian adaptation will showcase the talents of the contestants as they compete in a range of baking tasks that celebrate their individual stories, families, and communities.
The hosts and judges for this season include the comedic duo of Ann Pornel and Alan Shane Lewis, alongside esteemed judges Bruno Feldeisen, a former executive pastry chef, and Kyla Kennaley, a respected pastry chef and entrepreneur.
Among the 10 bakers selected for Season 10 are individuals like Andrew Arcello, a drama and music teacher, Slavomira Blahova, an office manager, Saul Caverhill, an electrical engineer, and others from different professional backgrounds and regions across Canada.
Exciting additions to this season include the introduction of the first plant-based baker, Andrew Arcello, and themed weeks such as Tropical Week and Vintage Week. The show will also feature a special birthday celebration to commemorate its 10th season on CBC.
The winner of The Great Canadian Baking Show will earn the title of Canada’s Best Amateur Baker, along with bragging rights and a ceremonial cake plate. The competition will consist of three baking challenges per episode, including the Signature Bake, Technical Bake, and Showstopper, each testing the bakers’ skills and creativity.
