Bell Media has struck a deal with Disney Entertainment to broadcast the Québécois French version of the popular TV series, “The Simpsons.” Due to this agreement, season 36 of “Les Simpson” will be airing on Bell Media’s Noovo television channel and streaming on Crave in the fall.
Last year, fans were dismayed when Corus Entertainment chose not to renew the broadcast rights, forcing francophone viewers to watch new episodes in European French. An online petition gathered thousands of signatures to preserve the Québécois dubbing, known for incorporating local references and expressions for 35 seasons.
In a heartening announcement on social media, Bart and Lisa Simpson shared the joyous news in their familiar Québécois French voices. The Québécois episodes are typically one season behind the American release, with the current American season being the 37th. Fans can catch up on seasons one to 35 in Québécois French on Disney+.
Thiéry Dubé, the voice behind Homer Simpson in the Québécois version since 2018, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown through the petition, emphasizing the importance of retaining the beloved local flavor in the dubbing.
